a Peek into my professional journey...

The Launch pad
My professional journey began in 1996, when I was selected by Dr. Kiran Bedi to launch and lead the Crime Home Children’s Project (later renamed - Children of Vulnerable Families Program) under the aegis of India Vision Foundation.
The work focused on rehabilitation and psychosocial support for children of inmates at Tihar Jail. It laid the foundation for my lifelong engagement with mental health, social contexts, and human resilience.
A Guidance & Counseling Travelogue commences.
Soon after, life took a personal turn as I embraced the role of a Forces wife. Choosing to travel alongside my husband on his postings across India, I stepped away from a single institutional setting and into a unique, immersive professional journey.
Over the years, I lived and worked in more than a dozen states, engaging with people across cultures, religions, age groups, professions, and social realities.

A wide Work experience Spectrum emerges..
Thus I got the opportunity to gain an unusually wide spectrum of work experience.
I worked as a trainer for military personnel undergoing the Psycho-Counsellor’s Course at a Command-level Military Hospital, served as a Station Psychologist at an Air Force base, worked as a school counsellor in multiple schools, taught Counseling Psychology at a nursing college, taught Counseling skills to Nursing staff... besides conducting personal sessions, workshops and seminars for students, parents, teachers, professionals, and organisations under public, private, and government initiatives.
A Unique ability Transpires.
Thereby I was able to hone a truly blessed ability towards human connection - developing and executing Custom made sessions to meet the unique needs of each institution and audience... across age groups, social backgrounds and communities.
These varied experiences — from walking waterlogged lanes of under-served communities to working within embassies and institutional settings — shaped my ability to connect deeply with people across contexts, and to design interventions that are responsive rather than prescriptive.

Dropping anchor
In 2016, I chose to drop anchor and establish a private counseling practice in Noida, offering in-person as well as online sessions.

Life has it's own plans..
The pandemic years marked another shift — moving work entirely online — and led me to further refine my expertise in online counseling and training. I continue to conduct capacity-building sessions for Manodarpan National Tele-Helpline counsellors and participate in national mental health initiatives, panel discussions, webinars, and radio programs, including appearances on Akashvani (All India Radio), Kohima.
